M*A*S*H Easter Egg - The Moon Is Blue/State Fair

In the episode The Moon Is Blue, Hawkeye and B.J. spend the episode attempting to get a copy of a dirty movie, "The Moon Is Blue," to show on movie night. Inadvertently, their film is switched with an excruciatingly clean old movie called "State Fair," which they proceed to boo and heckle. The inside joke? Harry Morgan, who played Colonel Potter on M*A*S*H, also appeared in "State Fair." His character, however, was not featured in the clips shown in the M*A*S*H episode.

That's the 1945 version of State Fair, not the earlier non-musical one with Will Rogers, or the later one (which wouldn't be around yet when M*A*S*H takes place) with Pat Boone.

There's an episode where everyone is in bored due to a cease-fire. Col. Potter gathers the staff in the mess tent to watch "My Darling Clemintine", his favourite movie. Throughout the movie, the film keeps breaking and, each time Klinger is repairing it, the group sings, Radar does imitations, etc. Anyway, Harry Morgan was in the movie, "My Darling Clemintine."

Actually, the episode of M*A*S*H referred to in the original egg statement was entitled "The Moon Is Not Blue". Just thought I'd clarify that.
