Cruel Intentions Easter Egg - Magazine Cover

When Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe are having a conversation in their home, she is reading a magazine. On the cover is Jennifer Love Hewett. This is a constant gag between the two actresses in the movies they make. In "Scream 2" Sarah Michelle Gellar is killed in the frat house... and is watching Party of Five on the TV.

Also - I heard a rumour that Jennifer Love Hewitt was originally offered the role of Buffy, and turned it down. You have to wonder if Sarah likes to rub it in a little...

I am pretty sure that in "scream two", Sarah Michele Gellar is watching either "scream 1" or "I know what you did last summer", not "party of five".

Jennifer Love Hewitt never got the role of Buffy! It was actually Katie Holmes who was originally picked to be the star and Sarah Michelle Gellar was slotted for the role of Cordelia Chase. It's a good thing Katie Holmes decided to head back to finish high school in Toledo, Ohio and SMG got to play the part!

In her interview in Seventeen Magizine(July 2002), Sarah Michelle Gellar actually states that she was not first cast as Buffy. She says "I was originally cast as Cordelia, not Buffy. I had long dark hair and I was a New Yorker. When they couldn't find a Buffy, I begged and begged for the part. I auditioned like 10 times and had to do a screen test all over again!". Just thought I would put that in for you!

I am a very big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have kept up with it, ane i know a lot about it. I have heard several times, and it is true, that Buffy was cast as Cordelia Chase, and that she begged for the role of Buffy. I would like to say that I am very glad that she was cast in the end, she is a wonderful actress to play Buffy. I watch the show, and then the movie, and i like the show better, mainly because i think Sarah Michelle Gellar played the role better. She's much more funny.
