Matrix, The Easter Egg - Sublimal Package

This egg is really cool, but you have to look closely to find it

1. If you have the Matrix, you need to fast forward it to the scene where Morphius is talking to Neo on the phone in Neo's appartment, and Morphius says "This line is tapped, so I must be brief."
2. As Morphius is speaking, immediately pause the movie as you observe the camera focusing in on Neo's desk.
3. Look at the the small package on Neo's desk. Notice that the writing on the label on the side of the package says "Oscar Wachowski." If you know that the directors of the Matrix are the Wachowski brothers, you might get a kick out of this, because it's clearly a sublimal plea from the Wachowski brothers for an Oscar.

I've always had doubts about the power of subliminal messages, but now I'm not so sure. Apparently this ploy worked for "Schindler's List" as well.

Its not a subliminal, its something they just threw in. Only if it affects your subconcious mind is it a subliminal message...

How about putting the time down for this egg? As in: "If you pause at exactly 21:15 into the movie...". I think that maybe you're just describing a piece of set dressing that wasn't even visible in the film. If you can provide us with an exact time as to where this can be found, please do so. If not, I'll just chalk this up as another false egg. Edsel out.

Edsel, with giving a time, it will not always be true, a vcr times from the time you enter into the vcr, so if you are at the very beginning when the matrix numbers come up or near the end when he flies, it will always be a different time, it depends on where the movie is when you put it into the vcr. If you try starting it at the very beginning on all movies it will not be the same time, unless you have the same vcr.

Jesse McAllister ([email protected]) Not to be mean, but with a VCR that is true although with a DVD you can specify hours, minutes, seconds and even frames which as most of us know would put you dead on the frame you were looking for.

The Matrix won an Oscar for visual effects and, if I'm not mistaken, one for sound effects.

For General Information Teh Matrix received 4 Oscar Awards; Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Effects, Best Sound and Best Film Editing. My personal opinion, it deserves best movie. I have seen it 47 times, and i have get to that conclusion. One more thing about the Oscar issue in the phoneescene; the DVD andthe VHS versions are completely differents, somethings that appears in the VHS version, it doesnt appear in the DVDE version and viceversa.

T am looking in the DVD version. I can't find the package you're talking about. The only desk it focuses in on is the desk with the phone on it. There's a desk in the background, but it's too blurry to make out anything.
