Ahem, a quote to these specific Eggs "Anybody from Indiana Jones to LucasArts game Designer Manny Calavera are not among the throngs in the Pod race Arena..." This Quote comes from Star Wars insider Issue 48, (February/March 2000 edition), more specifically from John Knoll, the Episode 1 Visual Effects supervisor. I do agree that several audience members may have a resemblance to these other characters, but it looks as though you're trying to look for animals in clouds. Just because something resembles something else, doesn't mean it is.

Manny has three big triangles on his forehead, and small curving lines on the side of his head. That skull had neither.

I am not really a big Star Wars fan, but I have watched the movies my whole life. Just a question... Counldn't these creatures instead be the creatures that in "Star Wars, A New Hope" are playing instruments at the cantina? Or are these and the ones you refer to one and the same?

As much as I WANT that to be Mr. Calavera, it is indeed one of the creatures featured in the Mos Eisley Cantina that played an instrument. If you look at the Indiana Jones picture, you can see the same creature, and the evidence is even more damning. That really DOES look like Indiana, though.

The picture is a fake. I have the widescreen version of the movie and just looked at that shot, the screen stops just before "Indiana" shows up.

This is highly unlikely as in that screenshot there are two creatures that resemble Manny, but neither are exact replicas of him. And if Lucas was to put Manny into his film, wouldn't he just use one and see if you notice it? Like the Indiana egg.

To me that looks like a Bith (the instrument creatures from Mos Esily) You can see the crack on his forehead which have earned the nickname from me "Butt-Heads". I have never seen this guy your talking about though so I'm not sure.

I agree, Manny is in the pod racing crowd, and in more than one shot. It was a lot easier to notice in the theater, but it's on the widescreen VHS (not sure about the panscan version as I haven't seen it.)
