Breakfast Club Easter Egg - Most Likely to Succeed

When they are showing scenes from around the school at the beginning of the movie, there is a "most Likely to Succeed" plaque from the past. Who is it? The janitor (a little younger.) =)

I just looked for this, and it actually says "Man of the Year" above the pictures. I think it is him though!

Just so you know, the janitor is played by John Kapelos. He was also in another John Hughes film, "Sixteen Candles." He was the groom.

If this isn't an egg, then what is? I mean I think it's fairly hidden since the general public isn't aware of it, plus it's interesting. I mean if an actual egg is just some hidden plug for merchandise or another movie then screw it, I'm more interested in this faux egg.

John Kapelos note: He was also the zoot-suit wearing man in "Weird Science", one of the fellas that got Gary drunk. "Ey pretty lady. What's a beautiful broad like you doing with a malaca like dis, ah?" Also, at the beginning of "Breakfast Club", notice there is a blown-out locker shown. This is Brian's locker, where the flare gun went off.

Okay, I watched this movie today, and I too saw this. However, I disagree that this was a "mistake." I think that it was intentionally put into the movie for a reason. It was to show that even though you think someone fits into a certain category, they might not turn out to be who you think they are, which is the whole meaning of the movie. But that's just my opinion. :)

This same man also appears recently on an episode of Michael Anthony Hall's new series "The Dead Zone" as a man who is an alcholic. By the way, Ally Sheedy is also on this episode.

Ok...first of all this is my favorite movie of all time. I have a few for you. When Bender and Andy are arguing and it shows Bender standing in front of the statue and he has just stabbed his knife in the chair, look to the right and you will see Allison steal it. Also when they are smoking pot in the back and Brian wants Bender to give him a high five, when Brian falls backwards he has two different colored aocks on. And he is also using the same voice he did when he was drunk in "Weird Science."

I am a huge fan of The Breakfast Club, and I jsut wanted to post that it is in fact John Kapelos (Carl the Janitor)in the picture, but he is not being recognized as Most Likely To Succeed, he is Man Of The Year. Watch carefully next time.

Kapelos is also Dewey Newcombe in Legally Blonde -- Jennifer Coolidge's ex...the trailer guy (she goes after him for custody of the dog, Rufus). He also had a starring role as Detective Schanke on the vampire-cop show Forever Knight.
