Deus Ex Easter Egg - Basketball Star

In NYC you come upon a man in the process of being mugged by two NSF thugs..they are on a bastketball court. After you finish that business, you can find a bastketball and play! If you get in the net or close to it you'll start to get messages from the developers..stuff like "Sign him up for the Knicks!".

The ball is not too big, the hoop's opening is merely a transparent solid. I tossed a LAM up there a few times, and put a throwing knife into the bottom of it. It always says the same thing during that particular trip, for example the first, "Sign him up for the Knicks!"

There is another basketball court in the first Hong Kong level (when jocks helicopter is trapped) if you can get to the roof of the building. (use the big lifts in the hanger).

If you look in the Hong Kong level in the level editor, there is a skills points trigger around the basketball net. I figured they just never activated it. Must go check... :)

There is also a Basketball field in Dark Project 1, but since it doesn't fit into the game, it's hidden in the training mission. There are also quotes from the developers.

Also the next time you're in Hell's Kitchen instead of "Sign him up for the Knicks" it says something (i don't exactly remember) like "football is the game for you" ? But obviously basketball is the game for you.

Actually an easier way to get it in is to enable cheats, use the fly mode, and shoot from above, works every time.

You cannot score a basket. The ball does not fit through the hoop (too big). Many have tried and gone mad. Evil.
