During the scene when Tom Cruise is walking through the house with a Black cape and Mask on, every time you see him from behind, thats my brother!

A man resembling Kubrick is seen when Bill meets Nightingale in the Cafe Sonata. You can see him at one of the tables, talking to a woman just as Nick sits down. This man wasn't Kubrick, a fact confirmed by his daughter Katharina Kubrick Hobbs on amk. However Katharina and Kubrick's assistant Emilio D'Alessandro both appear in the film. Katharina and her son are the patient and mother in Dr Bill's surgery and Emilio is the newspaper seller Dr Bill stops to buy a paper from when he is being stalked by the mysterious bald man.

Duh, Kubrik does a cameo in all the movies he directs, just like Alfred Hitchcock did....

Heh, that reminds me of a funny cameo Hitchcock once did. I think it was in the movie about that guy who was mistaken for being a murderer who strangled his victims with a tie. It's in the start and you get a overview of London...then you see a bus that stops and people get it, then a man (Hitchcock) is about to get in and the doors slam in and the bus take off, leaving Hitchcock behind. Great fun! =)

I'm sorry I can't let this go. what some up above said about the hitchock movie is wrong. The move where a man is confused with someone who strangles people is Frenzy. In that movie his cameo is in a crowd. The movie where hitchock appeares by running into a bus after it closes is in 'North by Northwest' with cary grant. sorry to waste you time.

EYES WIDE SHUT= YES, THUS WE DIE. In these mortal bodies our petty fears, jealousies and suspicions are what are the most disappointing. They keep us from self actualization. Yes, thus we die. We are only human clay.

I'm guessing he was in the background somewhere. Being _reeeeal_ quiet. Like a good cameo should...

I can't confirm for 2001, but I read that Kubrick's reflection can be seen in a visor in one shot. It's been speculated that the helicopter shadow at the beginning of The Shining is in lieu of a cameo.
