Please see the full description for "xyzzy" in AOS/VS (otherwise known as VS-1) for background on what this command is, and why it originally existed. The output of this command is different, in that AOS/VS II came with a new command line interpreter, CLI32.PR. Since the old CLI was 16-bit, and this one was 32-bit, it was only natural that "twice as much" would happen when invoking "xyzzy" in CLI32. I suspect that xyzzy was used as a debugging tool during the development of CLI32, much as it was in CLI16, though I'm not certain. In any event, style and form dictated that it not only be left in CLI32, but also be updated to reflect the 16- to 32-bit change.
