Heretic Easter Egg - Backwards Messages

Correction: I just listened to these messages again, and it turns out that the egg description should have the message listed as "Destroy the heretic!", not "Destroy our heaven?!"

Okay, Pyro, I have something that will reduce your LapTop struggle to a simple program use. Seek on the internet a utility named "New Wad TOOL" or "NWT." Once you download it, you will find it is for use on any Doom based game (i.e. Heretic). Use the utility to find (just select the heretic WAD, and play all sounds in the list) and extract the sounds (from RAW to WAV format). Then, play the files backwards using your wave player.

This was useful! I always suspected that, Doom 2 style, they were saying stuff backwards. I had a friend who told me that they were speaking in a dead wizard language. Beware of bad advice. D'Sparil (that last boss) says different things, but it'd be a pain to decode them.

D'Sparils line is indeed "Destroy the heretic". But what these robed wizards say is "Suck onto us, Heretic!" Seems probable as the sound file is called WIZACT, act being an euphemism for blowjob :-)

The final boss (can´t remember the name) says something like "destroy the heretic", of course, backwards.

Pyro's right, he doesnt say "I have no attorney", he says "Suffer for eternity"

A really easy way to hear these backwards messages is to go to the end of E1, L4. Right before you enter the room with the switch to go to the next level, put on the god mode cheat (QUICKEN). Turn the music all the way down, then go into the room and close the door behind you. There's a purple wizard in there, and you can hear him say the messages several times without you dying. (Dunno how I can reverse them, though...know where I can get a reversed file off the net?) The end boss doesn't seem to be saying anything, just laughing a lot...

And the other message is not "I've got no attorney." It sounds more like "(something) for eternity". I'll try to re-record it ASAP.

Thanks! =) By the way, you need to use two computers (I used a desktop PC and a laptop PC) to decode the backwards messages. (You can use a computer and a tape recorder, but if you do, the computer has to have a microphone attached to it, and it's a bit more complicated.) Here is how I found each message: 1) I started recording sound with the laptop. 2) I played the game until I heard the sound which I thought might be a backwards message. 3) After I heard the sound I wanted to investigate (for want of a better word), I stopped recording on the laptop. 4) Using the laptop, I played the sound in reverse.
