Ferris Bueller's Day Off Easter Egg - License Plates

Look at the license plates of the vehicles of the main characters in the movie. They're all abbreviations for John Hughes' other movies. Katie's (Mom) = VCTN (National Lampoon's Vacation)
Jeanie = TBC (The Breakfast Club)
Tom's (Dad) = MMOM (Mr.Mom)
Rooney = 4FBDO (Ferris Bueller's Day Off, this movie)

Also, the license plate on Cameron's dad's car (the red one, forgot what type) is "NRVOUS" (Nervous!)

John Hughes does this in a lot of movies, for example in The Breakfast Club the car Brain is driven to school in has the license plate EMC2.

Not to be picky, but the car is a 1961 Ferrari 250GT California. Someone had the wrong year and model, but it IS a Ferrari.

Cam's fathers car is not a Ferrari of any kind. It is a kit car, with a Corvette undercarriage. The discrepancies are subtle, but obvious to the trained eye. bc

The tell-tale scene that proves it is not a real Ferrari, is when the valet's jump it on their joy ride. (also, they give credit to the kit car manufacturer in the credits at the end).

The 'Ferrari' in the movie was actually a modified MG roadster. It was not a Ferrari nor a Corvette. The producers received many angry letters after the movie was released, because people thought they had actually destroyed a real Ferrari GTB California.

Okay, Cameron's dad's car was supposed to be a ferarri, but in fact in most of the scenes it is a reproduction/ kit car (they used four different ones), except when you first see the car, it is a real ferarri. I think its pretty cool (being a big car nerd myself)
