Sensormatic Intellex DVMS Easter Egg - Mysterious Symbols

Remove the cover from a Sensormatic (Robot) Intellex Digital Video Management System (2.0 or higher)

Look at the VACD board (the longest board plugged into a PCI slot on the motherboard) and the Call Monitor board (the short board connected to the VACD board by a ribbon cable)

There are several mysterious symbols representing some of the PCB developers, including a skunk, a man on a surfboard, a man on a bicycle, the initials CW surrounded by lightning bolts, and a Christmas tree with legs (depending on which version of Intellex you have).

It's a Digital Video Management System, it not only records video from multiple channels simultaneously, but allows for playback while recording, searching for specific patterns, and remote video streaming (basically a Tivo on steroids). They are commonly used for video surveillance in banks or at stores such as Walmart (You know those black domes in the ceiling? Each contains a camera, and is most likely connected to an Intellex.) Secondly, this is an archive of Easter eggs. Stuff that's hidden unless you knew to look for it. Like the signatures on the inside of a Macintosh case, you won't see it unless you are looking for it. If it was obvious, it wouldn't be an Easter egg.

I have seen the same kind of stuff in early Compaq desktop computers, like a tree on the bus and a roadrunner on the front-side bus.

It's true! I checked this today and I found a skunk and a guy on a surfboard. I'd look at some of the older version cards I have, but we're upgrading so I don't know if I'll have time to look for more.
