That bat thing isn't possible. I know because all the smileys are stored in the directory Yahoo!\Messenger\Media\Smileys, and none of the files there have a bat in them. Apparently there was a ghost you couldn't get in one of the beta versions. (~~) gives you a pumpkin, by the way.
