Before These Crowded Streets (Dave Matthews Band) - Dave Comes Out? On Ddtw
At the end of the song "Don't Drink the Water," between 6:00 and 6:30, Dave starts screaming out what seems to be gibberish. If you listen to it carefully see says, "Suppose I'm gay? like a homo yeah." Is he coming out or is he just mocking the rumors that have spread?

Dave has a girlfriend . Halloween (track 6) was written by Dave about him asking a girl to marry him 3 times. He was rejected all three. Crush (track 8)was written for his long time girlfriend Ashley Harper. I doubt he would 'come out' by mumbling something that is barely audible and very difficult to understand. Bottom line, he is not gay. This egg is simply not true.

Yeah well now that everyone has challenged my dave-ness. I figure I would reply. I am well aware that he is not gay and that he asked Julia Grey 3x to marry him and she said "no" three times and that "halloween" was written in reaction to that situation. Honestly I just felt like following Dave's example at the end of the song and create some ambiguity. There is absolutely no need to get so protective of the dave. Even nancies.org jokes with the idea that dave is gay in the faq where they spend i think 3 questions on "is dave gay?" and and obviously the answer is no. Everyone needs to chill out; I was just pointing out what dave said; I was not saying he was. It was an observation not a judgment.

HELLO! Dave is not gay, he is married and they have two baby girls. I think it is probably just Dave fooling around, we all know that he is really funny and loves to joke around.

i havnt taken the time to listen for this egg at the exact time that yall have mentiond.. but ive heard this song a thousand times. i remember reading online.. i think at www.dmbtabs.com under lyrics that he;s saying "because youre all dead" which would fut MUCH better to the rest of the songs meaning. keep in mind when dave goes off on his jiberish (sp)even his real words start to sound like jiberish. so maybe it jus sounds like he;s saying "a homo yea" *laughs while typing that last part*.. anyway ill listen for it next time i hear the song!

i also think that he was responding to the rumors, but he is married and im sure he's pretty happy. i also think that if he were to go to this site and read these comments about him, he would think its pretty funny to find out that someone responded to what may have been purposely said in "Dont Drink The Water", and laugh about it:) i give this EGG a 0!!!!

DMB first song "I'll back you up" was also written for the girl he asked to marry him three times, as well as the original version of "Satilite"

Anyone who's a true Dave fan knows that he's not gay. Of course that was mocking all of the stupid rumors about him. He just recently got married...to Ashley...who is a WOMAN!

It also sound like Dave says "Support the rumor, yeah" right after he says the "gay/homo" thing, at aprox. 6:20 in the song...
