Actually, you're both right. CHRISTOPHER Reeve was the star of the "Superman" movies. I think Anne is referring to GEORGE Reeves (it's with an "S", BTW)who was the star of the "Superman" TV series.

The actress' name is Phyllis Coates, and she did indeed play Lois Lane for the first season, in 1952, of "The Adventures of Superman". She also played Lois Lane in the 1951 film "Superman and the Mole Men" with George Reeves. Noel Neill took over the role of Lois from 1953 to the end of the series in 1957. Noel Neill, incidentally, had previously played Lois Lane in the 15-episode movie serials of "Superman" in 1948, with Kirk Alyn as Superman/Clark Kent. Both Noel Neill and Kirk Alyn had cameos, as Lois' parents, in the 1978 "Superman" movie with Christopher Reeve. One last note: George Reeves' was born "George Keefer Brewer" and then took his step-dad's surname to become George Bessolo. He became George Reeves just prior to filming "Gone with the Wind" in 1939, because "Bessolo" was not considered to be a manly enough name for him.
