Back at a major music awards show, Oasis was named "Best New Band of the Year," with INXS as said award presenters. When they took the stage, one of the Gallagher brothers went spouting off on a rant about how Oasis was the best band in the world, and that they were personally offended to have their award presented by such "has-beens" as INXS.

As a personal stab at the self-righteous egotists, the guys of INXS took turns altering the lyrics to the song "Elegantly Wasted". If one listens closely during the chorus, it is possible to (occasionally) hear one of the seven of them sing "better than Oasis" instead of "elegantly wasted". The other six do a pretty decent job of masking the errant vocalist, but this appears a few times throughout the song and is most certainly deliberate.
