Terminator: Special Edition, The Easter Egg - Hidden Featurettes

Hey kids, these are my first eggs, so be kind. There are MANY hidden featurettes. I'm not sure if I found them all, but I certainly found a lot. Enjoy!

NOTE: ALL EGGS ARE ON SIDE A OF THE DVD

From the Main Menu, enter the Scene Selections sub-menu.
Change to the page listing Chapters 13 - 16.
Highlight "Main Menu" and press DOWN. A box near the top of the screen should now be highlighted.
Select Enter or OK on your remote and you will see composer Brad Fiedel discussing his dislike of temp music tracks.

Follow the same procedure on other pages, and you'll see:
Chpts 25 - 28: Writer/director James Cameron on his working relationship with effects wizard Stan Winston
Chpts 29 - 32: Cameron discussing the possibility of cybernetic organisms in the future.

Head back to the Main Menu, and select Special Features.
Highlight "Resume Film".
Press the DOWN arrow on your remote.
A box at the top of the screen should now be highlighted green.
Press Enter or OK to view, at random, one of the following featurettes:

1. Michael Biehn on how he researched his character.
2. Biehn on James Cameron's willingness to accept actors' suggestions.
3. Producer Gale-Ann Hurd, Cameron and Brad Fiedel on the film's original monaural sound mix.
4. Fiedel on how he created some of the music effects.
5. Fiedel on his film history and why he chose synthesized sounds, and Cameron on Fiedel's contributions.

At the Special Features menu, select DVD ROM Features. In that sub-menu, highlight "Main Menu"
Press the RIGHT arrow on your remote.
A box at the bottom of the screen should now be highlighted. Press Enter or OK on your remote to view one of the following featurettes:

1. Special effects supervisor Gene Warren Jr. on some of the effects techniques used.
2. Warren Jr. on design of the H-K (Hunter-Killer) units and the future-war sequences.
3. Editor Mark Goldblatt on the re-shoot of the scene with the punks near the beginning.
4. Goldblatt discussing how he edited a re-shot version of the film's final scene.

Head back to the Main Menu, and select the Languages sub-menu.
Highlight "Francais" and press the RIGHT arrow on your remote.
Press Enter or OK on your remote and you'll see:
Michael Biehn on being blasted by bug spray.

By the way...I'm using the Region 1 disc here. Hopefully these will work for everyone.

The scene-selection sub-menus eggs (chapter screens 13-16, 25-28 & 29-32) all (seemingly randomly) yield multiple extra interview snippets (with still image, not full motion visuals) if you go back again and again. There's also a nifty "History of Time travel in pop culture" sort of thing written by (if I remember correctly) William Wisher. This piece is all frame-advance text.

Actually it was written by Randall Frakes, a very good friend of William Wisher. He also co-wrote The Terminator novel and wrote The Terminator 2 novel.
