Alien - All in the Family
When entering the alien vessel, looking for the source of the SOS signal, the Nostromo's crew comes face to face with the huge remains of the vessel's alien navigator still sitting in his chair. In one take, the crew is dwarfed by its size. The actors used in this scene are actually children (Ridley Scott's), dressed up as astronauts. By doing so Scott could make the set look larger than life.

This is true! A children's book I read (and almost memorized) on this movie said that at one point, one of his kids passed out! They went a little *too* low-budget, and didn't have adequate ventilation in their suits. The problem was fixed of course.

This is a fact........Ridley Scott's 11 year old son was used as the stand-in for Veronica Cartwright in several scenes. The spacesuit that he wore was recently for sale on EBAY.
