Home Improvement Easter Egg - Special Treats

ok, on one halloween episode, Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) answers the door to some trick or treaters. One of them is dressed in a Simba, from the Lion King, costume: another is dressed in a Buzz Lightyear costume, from Toy Story. Randy gives the Simba kid lots of candy and only gives the Buzz kid a little. This is because Jonathan Taylor Thomas was the voice of Simba and Tim Allen was the voice of Buzz Lightyear.

Furthermore, Tim Allen's daughter was supposed to be dressed as Simba. She backed out at the last minute because it was a "boy's costume"...

Or was she supposed to be Buzz? I'm not sure anymore, but definitely one of the two...

On another episode where Tim's brother wants to help Tim out on Tool Time, they get mad at each other in the hardware store and swaps that old "I'm not talking to you anymore" stuff. Well, the last line of the argument Tim threw in was "I'm not talking to you anymore and Infinity and Beyond". That was from Buzz Lightyear's line from Toy Story and which Tim also did the voice for Buzz.

This is not an egg, it is a joke. They even had a laugh track playing after this was said.

What Randy did was count individual pieces of candy to each Simba and Buzz - symbolizing how many Academy Awards each movie won that year. The Lion King had a few more than Toy Story. Whether an egg or inside joke, it's funny.

there was also an episode when randy is playing under the kitchen table with his cousin (one of the twin girls) and she hands him a stuffed simba and he makes some crack about it
