Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident Easter Egg - Centaurian Writing

At the bottom of the pages of the main story, there is a code in Centaurian. When translated into English it reads:
Congratulations, human. If you have cracked this code, you are more intelligent than most of your species. This is a message from the fairy people. We are seeking out our allies among the Mud Men.Though most humans are dull witted creatures, there are exceptions. You, for example. The reason for your intelligence is that you have fairy ancestors. Do you feel different from those around you? Are your ears a bit pointier than most? Is your tongue long enough to touch your nose? Do you dream of flying? Have you ever thought that you do not belong among the Mud Men? That is because you have fairy blood in your veins. So, young Mud Fairy, I have a mission for you. As one of the People, it is your duty to protect the earth from those who would destroy it. You must become one of a new race of Mud Men who love this planet as much as the fairy folk. There is one simple rule. Use only what you need and use it wisely. Do this and the earth will survive. Go now and begin your quest. I shall repeat this message for those whose fairy intelligence is buried a bit deeper than yours.

The message then repeats up to "Do you feel different from those around you?"

There are 2 codes in the english Arctic Incident book. One is Centaur, which is the one (on the english book) that is down the bottom of every page and along the spine of the book, you can translate this using the centaur saying with translation on page 145. This same saying is also in the box with green? writing on the front. The Gnomish code is the picture one, on the front under the box of green writing are 4 circles Purple, Red, Green and Blue. Underneath them is one letter each of the Gnomish code. This code is also in the small box at the start of every chapter under the title. If you still don't know what im talking about, it is flies and acorns etc. I found a font for the Gnomish code on some website when i searched on Google. I hope this has been of some help to you code crackers. If you want the Cenatur code i can email you a chart of it translated. ^^

The writing is at the bottom of the page. to translate it, simply compare the paragraph of centurian which is about halfway into the book, with the translation provided just before it. A hint: a spaces are not always what they seem.

I don't think it's in the (american) paperback edition. I have that book and it's not in here. Besides I don't even see the paragraph of the writing.

This doesn't relate exactly to this subject, but when Artemis goes to Russia, he uses the alter ego Stefan Bashkir. In Eoin's book, Supernaturalists, one of the main characters is named Stefan Bashkir.

Whoa, whoa, calm down. I have the American version, paperback (ISBN 0-7868-1708-9). There is no Gnommish in it at all. Wait, no, that's wrong. There is the word "Fowl" just above the F-E-R in Colfer. Other than that, there is no code.

Guys, please shut up! The Centaurian code is obviously only in the United Kingdom, so stop arguing unless you're jealous that the United Kingdom gets a few more encrypted words than the United States do. If you have questions, contact me at jakesteraz@hotmail.com
