If you look closely at the antlers of the Hartford Insurance deer (print version), you will see the crags of his antlers spell the word STAG.

I hate to break it to you, FreeLance, but you're a moron. Just because the word means "Deer" doesn't mean that's what it says. Here, have a look,

Even in the tiny version on their page, you can see that it says "STUD."

Actually, if you look closely at Lawrence's (that's his name) antlers you can clearly make out the word STUD, not STAG.

I worked at The Hartford in forms design. We discovered the word STUD in the antlers in the 1960's during a revision of the logo. The Marketing Department had a fit! But, the biggest change is that they now have airbrushed out the thing that made him a stud! Take a look at an old logo and the new one. He has been neutered.

depending on how you look at it, it says, stud, skud, sud, or shud. it doesn't say stag. also, the one and only joke about the Hartford stag is that the word "hart" means a young male deer. so the Hartford stag's antlers could very well spell out stud.

It obviously says "STUD." Anyone who can get "Stag" from that needs to get their eyes checked.

Err, I hate to break this to y'all, but the words STAG means a male deer, so it only makes sense for it to mean "stag", not "stud"...
