This Eegg is WRONG. The Bundy'sgot their names from the professional wrestler King Kong Bundy. Also, in the older shows, Marcy's last name was Rhodes, after professional wrestler "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. The creator of the show has stated this many times.

Lenny is right. Both the Bundy's and The Rhodes were indeed named after professional wrestlers. That is why they had King Kong Bundy guest star a couple of times as well as two different shows that focus on pro wrestling matches. This is semi-common knowledge if your a fan of the show.

the darcy's name came by rhyming marcy's first name. she was apparently drunk when she married jefferson, and afterwards lamented that her name was "marcy darcy"

Well, it is believed that the Darci namesake was actually Barry Darso.

Anybody who watches the show knows that Marcy's last name isn't Darcy... It's D'Arcy. Where it came from is still a mystery to me though.

alright, people, it doesnt matter whose name it was first, the point is, the studio and the street both have the same names. it might be a coincidence, or it might be an egg, it's still interesting. no need in getting all "Star Trek geek style arguement" on the subject.
