Winamp Easter Egg - Fun with Beats

Egg 1: With the defualt (Modern) skin chosen stretch the main window until the Beat Analyzer (it says "beat" under it) appears. Hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift and Click the Center of the beat analyzer. Now put on a song with fast beats and loud bass. (My suggestion would be "Insane in the Brain")

Egg 2: Type "nullsoft" in the main window. Since L is a shortcut key to open a file it is neccesary to pres "esc" after both L's. So you're really typing
N-U-L-(esc)-L-(esc)-s-o-f-t. Now put on a song with fast beats and loud bass and enjoy the effect.

If it doesn't work for you and you're interested in what each does:

Egg 1: Replaces the beat analyzer with 2 llamas that head bang to the beats.

Egg 2: Changes to opacity of winamp with the beats.

This is really cool!! I got them both to work. If you can't get the first one to work, you might have to click around a little bit...you really have to be in the very center.

I can't get the second one to work... maybe it's because I have 5.05?

Okay, I finally got the second one to work. Just type "nullsoft" in the main window. (Doesn't work when you press Esc after the L's)

The "nullsoft" easter egg works in 5.05, too. I click the Winamp window, then hold Ctrl+Shift while typing 'nullsoft'.

I can't get either to work. Please explain how to "stretch" in order to see a beat analyzer. Also, please explain what "typing in the main window" means. Thanks

i think you just need make twice the size and it will works (for llamas beating). i did before this kind of trick with winamp classic and still works with 5.111 classic skin youll see "IT REALLY WHIPS THE LLAMA´S ASS!" i mean about the nullsoft typing or just do the trick on modern skin then choose classic skin and that is going to be in your title bar, some other skins have another phrases.

hahahaha this is a really funny egg, i think it is a really cool feature, though the 1st one can get a bit boring. the opacity changing is good though

I have Winamp 5.552 and both these eggs work for me, except that the llamas don't replace the beat analyser -- they just lie on top of it. In reply to bretticus25 (and anyone else who's confused), "stretch the main window" means click on the left or right edge and drag that edge until the window is the size you want; "type in the main window" means mouse over the main window and click it so it's the active item (in Windows parlance, it "has the focus"), then type.
