Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception Easter Egg - Hardcover Wrapping
On the cover of the book in the shimmering section there are gnomish symbols shooting out of the tunnel(you have to really look). They say the following:
"Opal wants revenge" Hint if you're checking if it's true: The very first row is written backwards, all others are normal. Enjoy =)

I have the American version, hardcover, ISBN 0-7868-5289-5. It reads "Opal wants revenge" on the sleeve, left to right, three times. Don't belive me? Go to http://www.artemisfowl.com/aboutthebook.html. As of 6/18/2005, it can be seen clearly in the background. Provided this new-fangled "submit your images" system works, you should be able to access my scan of the cover. (Also, I don't see "DNA never lies" under the sleeve. The front and back are blank, and the spine says "Eoin Colfer Artemis Fowl The Opal Deception Hyperion miramax books")

yeah and on the underneath (hardback cover if you take off the sleeve) it says "DNA NEVER LIES" (on The Opal Deception)

OK, OK. Let's sort this out. I have the British version. It doesn't say Opal Wants Revenge anywhere but it does say DNA never lies. I know someone who has the american version so I'll ask her about it when I next see her.

Ok, I discovered this egg, and I suppose you need some additional info:
a)you MUST have the American version!
b)you MUST have the hardcover book!
c)for some people, this might be hard to see
d)use a light source that shines directly onto the cover
c)it's not easy to find, easter eggs are ALWAYS hidden, thats the point of 'em! The whole fun of it is searching!
