In the song "Remains of the Day," there is a reference to Oingo Boingo, the band of Danny Elfman, the composer and voice of Bonejangles. Bonejangles sings:

There in the shadows, was it the man?

which is very similar to lines from the Oingo Boingo song "Dead of Alive," and is sung the same way.
