Apollo 13 Easter Egg - Actor Is Brother of Director

1. When they show the scenes of the guys working at Houston, look for a guy who is bald and has glasses (he's the one who says the whole thing about this being the last option).

2. That "guy" is Clint Howard, Ron Howard's (the director) brother. He has been in literaly every Ron Howard film created!!!

3. Look for more Ron Howard films that have Clint Howard in them!!!

Don't forget to mention that the lady who plays Jim Lovell's mother is actually Ron Howard's mother. I believe he said that his father talked him into it...

And don't forget the Priest was Ron Howard's Father. Nothing weird about Ron putting his entire family in his films. What is wierd is that in Ransom, he employed NONE of them? Why?

Ron's daughter is wearing a yellow outfit in the scene where the astronauts and families meet at night in front of the launching pad.

And remember, Clint Howard, like his famous brother, was also a child actor. He was in a few episodes of The Andy Griffith Show (he played Opie's pal, Leon). But perhaps you might remember him from his days on the show Gentle Ben.

... and speaking of Star Trek: Max Grodenchik (Rom in ST:DS9) appears in a couple of the scenes with Clint Howard.

The "little dude with the big ship" is named Balok and the name of his ship was The Fesarius. Oops, I just revealed that I am a Star Trek fan. I feel so depressed now. I'm going to get some tranya.

I believe Clint Howard also recently appeared as one of the Ferengi pirates in "Acquisition", an episode of the Star Trek prequel series "Enterprise".

not really an Easter egg but more of a factoid, the scene where the astronaut vomits was originally planned to use fake vomit, but since the actor had gotten a queasy stomach from actual weightlessness,he provided the best fx at no cost.the nickname for the aircraft the weightless scenes were shot in is "the vomit comet" and those three actors held the title for most time in the comet, even more time than the fighter pilots had endured
