Clockwork Orange, A Easter Egg - Mark of the Beast?

When Alex's old droogs find him being beaten by the homeless, look closely at their numbers. Dim is Officer 665 (pretty easy to see) and Pete seems to be Officer 667 (first two digits are hard to verify). Presumably, Alex would have been 666 if he had taken a different path in life...

This is even more clear when they drag Alex along betwee the two of them, so as if he would be between 665 and 667.

We're not talking about the book, we're talking about the movie. And in the movie, the two officers who beat Alex are both his former droogs.

In the movie, it was Georgie & Dim. In the book it was Bily-Boy & Dim (Georgie having been killed during a lone burglary). s'far as the 'badge numbers' go, one was 665 the other was 321 - a poke at Alex's being 665321 in prison (he was 6655321 in the book)

Actually in the movie his inmate number was 655321. If you remember they referred to him as 6 double-5 321.
