House Easter Egg - Sherlock Holmes Reference

If you watch House when he either enters or leaves his home, you will see that the address is: 221B. This references the greatest detective ever. Mr Sherlock Holmes of 221B baker street. I'm not sure yet what street he lives on, but I'll keep looking.

David Shore has said the entire character concept of House is based on Sherlock Homes, in particular his remarkable ability to rapidly deduce characteristics and past actions of a person simply by giving them a once-over.

Irene Adler was Holmes' only "love." She was said to be House's true love on the 12/09/08 episode.

it is kinda ironic that house (based on Holmes) is a DR. the man Sir Doyle based Holmes off of was also a DR...coincidence?

This is very much intentional. Its mentioned in one of the cast and writer interviews on "Hulu"- the writer likens House to Holmes, and Watson as Wilson. I did not notice the address egg, but it seems like the writers are having a little fun.
