Three actors from the original 'Dawn of the Dead' (1978) film also appear in this remake, but in different roles.

Ken Foree, who played 'Peter' in the original, appears as the evangelist on television saying "When there's no more room in Hell, the dead will walk the Earth." This line was also said from Foree in the original film.

Scott H. Reiniger, who played Roger in the original, plays the army general also on television .

Tom Savini, who played the biker Blades in the original, plays the Los Angeles County Sheriff.
