World of Warcraft Easter Egg - Dungeons and Dragons Reference

The center of the Blackrock Spire area in World of Warcraft is taken from an episode of the 1980's cartoon series "Dungeons and Dragons". In one episode the characters are captive in a prison suspended by chains over a volcano lava pool, much like the center island in Blackrock Spire which leads to other portions of the dungeon.
