Being John Malkovich Easter Egg - 43

In the film, if you notice that John Malkovich lives in apartment #43. This is not by accident. This number 43 is much a skateboard/BMX related phenomenon. The thing is that it seems to come up all the time just (if you're looking) like if you own a certain car you tend to notice others on the road. So, at this point people include this number in places just as a "what's up" to people that know - if you skate or ride BMX, you probably know. Spike Jonze (director) was/is a BMX rider. Also, I think I saw Spike in the film as a GI in a quick snap where John Malkovich was watching TV or
something - much like Alfred Hitchcock's quickie cameos.

actually, the number 37 comes up everywhere for me, since i saw "clerks" years ago. in any case, if you ask someone to think of a number, a number with 2 digits, the first digit odd and the second digit odd, they will say 37 more than any other number, quite remarkably so in fact

To quote the guy from Arnofsky's "PI"... "When your mind becomes obsessed with something you will filter everything else out and find that thing everywhere." Or something like that. You are all obsessed with your own different number and so you will find that number everywhere.
