On the episode where Fry, Leela, and Bender have to fight in a war against the balls, when it shows the army base right after Bender puts the bomb inside him to save everyone, it shows an above view of the base. The base style, jokes by Zoidburg and the robot, and the music it plays when the scene starts are all a reference to the old show called "M.A.S.H." which is an army base but made as a comedy, never really fighting on it. Also, if you look at the alienese on one of the tents, when translated, it says MASH on it. Seems MG sure loved that show.
