Stunt (Barenaked Ladies) Easter Egg - Home of the Robbie

Go to the song "One Week". At the end it keeps repeating the words "still be two days till we say we're sorry". Instead of saying that, one of the times it says "Birchmont Stadium, Home of the Robbie".

Maybe its not an egg, but it's helpful. The booklet with all the lyrics didn't write the last one in, so I was wondering what they were saying. It is kind of an egg, in a way, because it isn't anywhere in the booklet-thingy.

For anyone who doesn't know, Birchmount stadium is a track, soccer field, football field, etc... in Toronto, Canada where track meets are held, and of course the Robbie. The Robbie is a soccer tournament. There is a sign on the front of the stadium that says "Birchmount Stadium, Home Of The Robbie". I go to school right beside the stadium at Birchmount Park Collegiate. It makes me proud.

The Robbie reference also refers to Robbie Knievel, who once jumped at Birchmount Stadium (hence the motorcycle jump on the radio).

My father bought the best of BNL CD (which is excellent by the way). And in the jacket of the CD, they explain why they say "Birchmont Stadium, Home of the Robbie". I guess they drove by that school one day and saw that sign, thought it was amusing, then decided to put it in their song. I forget all the details, but it was something like that...

Who hadn't noticed? However, it did take me weeks to figure out what they were saying.

I'm Sandra Miller, host of the hit music talkshow in Belgium. I had them on my show and they said that was where Steve went to school and he had promised that he would mention the school if he ever got famous.

I always thought it was "Let's watch TV at the home of the Robbie" Referring to Ed Robertson the guitar player for the band
