Dark knight Easter Egg - Heath Ledger

That is so obviously NOT Heath!! lol

This is not Heath Ledger this man is too tall, if you recall the scene where he shoots the Commissioner he is clearly shorter than most people.

While I do see a similarity in looks, I'm not sure this is Heath Ledger. It would be easier to see if his eyes were open, or maybe another expression, but I really don't think it's him. I'll have to check my DVD at home for a closer look.

I noticed this on my own. Well, not from the face, but from his back. Later, after the couples have tabled together, we see the back of this man, which immediately conjured up the idea that maybe that's the Joker. Then I started to pay attention to the woman he's talking to. Notice the sympathetic way she talks. Plus, while Dent talks about the scum of the city, she mouths something that appears as if she could be saying something about his scars. (Here I traced her back to the picture you have.) However (I must backtrack myself) when we see the face of this alleged Joker, scars are hardly visible. Yet (once again) the Joker is crafty. He could downplay his scars with makeup just the way he accentuates them as the Joker. Conclusion: (like most things in this world) there isn't one. (Unless someone on the inside would not mind explicating.) I like to believe that that is (maybe) the Joker. Throughout the course of the film, he constantly plays with people's perception. (Using schoolbusses for bank heists, guising as the honor guard, clowns with guns as hostages, etc.) He's a deceiver. He may not look like a guy with a plan but that is exactly the point. Things that are normally sweet and innocent are hiding terrible secrets. The Joker is right under Dent's nose, with keen ears and a watchful eye.

Phoenix, Yes it is Heath Ledger, but he's not sitting there intended to be The Joker, he's just sitting there intended to be another restaurant guest.

Although it looks a lot like him, if the Joker was to show up he would not go with a date, the woman talking to him looks to involved with the guy, as if they knew each other for a while or something. Now its being just Ledger as a extra, although it could be done, it would probably be the first time that the an actor in a movie also would have a cameo appearance as an extra out of character. From comparing images, Ledger's ears do not fold out as far, his nose is although similar, seems to not be as wide, his eyebrows are not the same, and it seems that the Joker's eyebrows are the same as Ledger's so they did not change his eyebrows for filming the joker, and Ledger's chin has a dent somewhat in the middle not a double chin thing. But the guy on screen doesn't.

It would be nice and wonderful to believe that was The Joker, or Just Heath having a bit of fun being an extra, but honestly, this is not Heath Ledger. The man in question has some similarities, but it's not him. As for what he and his lady friend are discussing, well the Joker had become news by then if I recall correctly and they very well could be discussing the Joker and his recent TV antics. =) I'm one of many sculptors that work for a toy company. I really shouldn't drag the company into this little debate, all I can say are the toys are "hot". *wink wink* Anyway, I have spent many hours pouring over photos and images of Mr. Ledger for this very movie so his features, face, height, body dimensions and mannerisms of all "Joker Type" are all burned into my head for at least the next forty years. *lol* So I can say in all confidence that this is not him. Good eye for catching the likeness, however!

Heath Ledger is actually sitting behind Christian Bale when they are having dinner, He has his back to the camera.
