I looked up the word "cameo" with Babylon and it said
"A bit part played by a famous actor who would ordinarily not take a such small part"
so now you know it

A cameo doesn't have to be a non-speaking part. I've seen lots of movies with stars playing smaller parts and talking. Like Robin Hood - Prince of thieves with Sean Connery at the end. He did talk. Or what about Jay and Silent Bob in Scream 3? Jay did talk.

I hope I'm right, but I thought the definition of a cameo was an actor making an appearance as themselves in a film. If they have a little part stuck in there for star recognition value (like John Goodman in Rocky and Bullwinkle, or Casey Affleck in American Pie) that's called a Bit Part. If they don't talk, it's a Walk-On...

He did actually have a larger part, but it was cut out later on. It wasn't intended just to be a cameo role.
Also, I thought if you were a cameo then you didn't talk (e.g. Sarah Michelle Gellar in 'She's all that') but I might be wrong.

Since the of 12 I believe, I have known the guy's name is Thomas Ian Nicholas, not Ian Thomas Nicholas. He used to be on the cover of the magazines I read at that age along with Jonathan Brandis on the cover. For those who don't know, Thomas was in a little movie called Rookie of the Year and A Kid In King Arthur's Court when he was a bit younger.

I'm not sure about the entire cameo thing, but It totally is Casey. I'm a huge fan of his big brother, Ben.

Casey Affleck was never slated to have a larger role in the movie... at least not at the time that the shooting script was isued to the crew. His part was designed to serve as a trigger event to set Kevin on his way

Names are only put in the credits if the person has a speaking part. Plus, this wouldn't be an egg, it would be a slip-up.
