Rudy Easter Egg - That Face Looks Familiar

During the climactic football game, look closely when Rudy's family is shown cheering for him in the stands. Seated behind Rudy's father is a small, middle-aged man with a mustache. This is the real-life Daniel "Rudy" Ruttiger.

He also is listed in the credits as "Fan in Stands": Daniel K. Ruettiger.

Actually, the real Rudy is seen right between the player who just made the play that got Rudy in the game and Rudy. Just as the player says "That was for YOU, Rudy!", you see the real Rudy pop between them in the background smiling.

This in fact, is true. Awhile back Rudy(real one) actually came to our school to give a speech, someone then asked if that was him in the crowd. He answered yes. So, no matter what anyone says, this is true.

The actual Rudy is not the small man with the moustache, but rather the man to the left of him, with the hat. When "Rudy" sacks the quarterback, his father in the movie is cheering, while cheering he grabs the man behind him in celebration (it also looks as though he is describing the play) the man who is grabbed by Rudy's father is in fact the actual Rudy. You can check this out at www.rudyintl.com (it is the rudy internaional foundation if the web address is wrong). There is a picture of him on that page and it is rather clear that the real Rudy is not the man with the moustache.
