Digimon - Wizardmon and Virtual Pets?

Whenever you see Wizardmon (The guy with the yellowish suit and a covered mouth), look at his staff. The round part looks a lot like a Tamagotchi (You remember, those virtual pets shaped like an egg)! It even has the characteristics: cracked shell frame on the front (where the screen is) and the three buttons (they're farther apart than the Tamagotchi)!

Just for reference, Tamagotchi was made by BanDai, also the makers of Digimon. Tamagotchi and Digimon are both virtual pets, but Digimon units can connect and battle.

Special Requirements:

You just need to see an episode with wizardmon.
