The yellow ball with the blue stripe and red star appears several times in the movie and almost every PIXAR short and feature.

The very first film pixar created was lamp playing with the ball (thus the intro of pixars, lamp and ball routine) it eventually ended on top of the ball and flatened it. So thats it, as for the rugrats resemblance, rugrats is made by klasky csupo. Which makes cartoons like rugrats (duh) duckman (an adult cartoon about a private I duck) ahh real monsters and such. It's the first non-disney animation company to break the 100 million box office mark for there rugrats movies. So theres no connection between the two.; 7 of 7 people found this comment helpful. Kasey Joy writes:: The ball is a common one that can actually be bought at most toy stores I even had one as a child, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Rugrats had the same one, but I think it was purely coincidental.
