In the "Homer's Phobia" the one where John Waters plays a gay shop owner, When John is first introduced, there is a pink flamingo leaning against a wall behind him. "Pink Flamingos" was one of John Waters's films.

In the episode with Poochie the Rockin dog in it, caricatures of the actual Simpson's crew members are used to portray the writers of the Itchy and Scratchy show.

stacie_yates writes:: Yep. Flamigos are only pink if they're getting the proper diet. If you remove certain foods from their diet, they can't produce the pink pigment, and the color fades. They're sort of a dusty gray, then.; 4 of 6 people found this comment helpful. Did you?
