Waters, John - Living in Hell
Many of John Waters' movies are set in Baltimore, MD, where John spent many of his formative years. He has said on occasion that growing up there was like growing up in hell itself.
In reference of that description, many of his films include a pop-culture reference many of us will recognize.
Remember as kids how we thought it was so funny to take a pocket calculator and type in 7734, then turn it upside-down and it would spell out hell? Well, John Waters finds creative ways to put that number in his movies. For example, in the Eddie Furlong/Christina Ricci movie "Pecker", we see the characters riding a Baltimore city transit bus with the number 7734 painted on it.
I know there are other references in other of his films, and hope that you will find and post them in the comments section.
