Nokia Mobile Phones Easter Egg - Messages in Morse Code
Go to the SMS ringtones page
(Menu>Tones>Message Alert Tones) Listen to the tone called "Special" - this is actually the sound of someone spelling SMS in Morse code. Then try "Ascending". This spells out CONNECTING PEOPLE - Nokia's slogan. And I bet you thought that it was just a load of noise, eh! If you don't know Morse code, there are several Morse code translators on the web. One of the best is Cwget which you can download from this url: http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10051-100-6963877.html This decodes the sound you get from your microphone straight into letters in english.

On my (newer?) Nokia, There are 2 SMS message alert tones in morse: "Special" will beep out "sms" and "Long and Loud" will beep "connecting people". The CWGET morse decoder program showed this beautifully, when I held up my cell phone to the microphone of my PC (just do a WWW search for "cwget")!

There is a fully featured text to morse code ringtone generator at
http://morsetones.no-ip.org
It generates a MIDI morse ringtone that will play back on most modern phones,
and even allows you to download your own poly morse ringtone via WAP, all for free!

Yeap! This is true in deed, there was once I was learning morse code and I came across the nokia SMS message, I noticed that it sounds quite the same as "SOS" which is "...---..." in morse code, I kind of link them together and found out that SMS is morse code too! Cool huh?!

I heard the "SMS" once at my school. I thought it was funny but I figured someone with a sense of humor just programmed it themselves. Yet another illusion shattered: nobody at my school HAS a sense of humor...

Punch in "*3001#1234# to access the debug/programming/field test menu, also
try "*#639#" to program the phone. I have a 1260 with AT&T Service.
