Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope Easter Egg - Star Wars Movie Poster in Movie

At the beginning of the movie as the rebel blockage runner approaches the screen (Leia's ship), you can see the Star Wars poster in the cockpit. The modelers thought this was a cool thing to do and Lucas oked it. Enjoy!!

NOTE: This is hard to see on a TV; however, I was able to see it on the big screen when they released the Special Edition.

Actually, it is a playboy centerfold. It is mentioned in "Skywalking" and "The Making of Star Wars" (Book, not video). It was later digitally replaced with a Star Wars poster because Lucas knew people like us would slow down the scene and watch for things like that.

Actually, it is BOTH a tiny star wars poster and a playboy centerfold according to the book 'From Star Wars To Indiana Jones'. They were hung on the cockpit wall of the model, "out of camera eye".

Agastino is correct, it is both a Star Wars poster and a Playboy center fold to- scale in the cockpit of the Tantive IV. They are both on the right hand side of the cockpit, and all shots were taken at an upward angle to keep them out of view. I could not even see them when it was on display in the San Francisco Art Museum. The full title of the book you can see them in is: From Star Wars to Indiana Jones; The Best of the Lucasfilm Archives.

Alright... Now.. I hope I don't sound like an idiot, and I'm a BIG Star Wars nut, I know damn near anything.. but... When the screen cuts from Luke and Obi-Wan in Mos Eisley, there's a crashed thing into a building... Is that a Pod Racer?
