King, Stephen Easter Egg - Masterton

Stephen King sometimes includes a character called Masterton in his books. For example 'The Shining' (Masterton was Dick Hallorrans friend in Florida), and 'Pet Sematary' (Steve Masterton worked with Louis at the hospital). If you know what is so significant to the name 'Masterton', please comment.

Graham Masterson - a FABULOUS writer! King has endorsed his books several times. Just like references to his friend Peter Straub & his son Ben in Eye of the Dragon

Another interesting fact related to The Shining: In the book IT, Dick Halloran (the cook and friend of Danny's who also had the "shine") was mentioned as young man and army companion of Will Hanlon, father of Mike Hanlon. This reference also indicates that he had a "sixth sense" of sorts.

Mike Hanlon is one of the main characters in "IT." He grows up to become the Derry librarian (not a cop) - who also appears in "Insomnia."

I'm not an expert but Graham 'Masterton' is another fantastic horror writer so Stephen could be praising him by including him in his work.

I just re-read the part of IT with Hallorann, and it doesn't seem like he has any kind of 'sixth sense' although he does show good sense... And yes, Mike Hanlon is the cop in Insomnia.
