Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Easter Egg - Longbottom Genealogy

Neville Longbottom's surname bears an interesting resemblance to J.R.R. Tolkien's Longbottom region in the Shire. According to Tolkien's description of the Shire at the very beginning of the book, Longbottom is the area where the best pipe-weed is grown. Taking into account that Neville is highly gifted in Herbology, this can hardly be a mere coincidence.
