L.A. Story Easter Egg - "Oh Pointy Birds!"

In L.A. Story, Steve Martin tries to prove his love for Victoria Tennant by reciting a poem that begins: "Oh Pointy Birds, Oh Pointy, Pointy..."

This is a poem that originally appeared in Martin's 1982 film "The Man with Two Brains." It was the favorite poem of he and his late wife.

Do we know for sure that the poem is really this short? Wishful thinking: I would love it if the poem went on and on for pages...

Every once in a while Pointy Birds or Dillon's Grove pop into my head, usually in a public place, and I bust out laughing like an idiot, or look stupider trying to hold it back. I forgot how sublime the backstory to the poem actually is... The address above is off some guys web page and he has the whole thing written down...
