In at least one episode, Inspector Gadget drives his car through the junk yard, where you can see the junk yard cats that appear in the Heathcliff cartoon. (they were actually their own sub-cartoon, that was half of the Heathcliff show)

It works the other way around, too. There is at least one episode of Heathcliff in which the Cadillac Cats are watching Inspector Gadget on TV. :)

Inspector gadget is actuclly a continuation of the Get Smart TV series. When Don Adams (Maxwell Smart, Inspctor Gadget's Voice) was asked to make a "sequel" to the Get Smart series he said he would do it only as Inspector Gadget.

Yeah I've noticed that too. I think that Penny has a Heathcliff doll, too.

This also happens vice versa (in Heathcliff you
sometimes see Inspector Gadget on T.V.)

He still has a daily comic (you can watch it here) http://www.comics.com/creators/heathcliff/index.html
Also, some time ago, I saw on cartoon network a show called The Heathcliff and"something" show, I don't remember the other name, but it was about some vampire-like dog, a jack o'lantern with feet and no arms or something, and é weird looking skeleton that could transform into everything.
I think this show is older than the one from DIC's

Also, if you notice that the Cadillac Cat's junk Cadillac transforms into diff. modes just like The Gadget-Mobile and Dr. Claw's car.

It?
He is a cat, not an "it".
Heathcliff is not only a TV show, but also some books.
I used to get him confused with Garfield, because they look very similar.
